Chinese Baptist Church of Orange County
The Christian Youth Fellowshihp [CYF] at Chinese Baptist Church of Orange County studied Scripture in area of God's justice, and prayerfully began a campaign to raise awareness and funds to fight against the sex trafficking of children. After studying through the Interntional Justice Missions Youth curriculum, the youth learned that $1000 could help free a child from bondage. A dream was set to help free 100 children, and the campaign Raise 100k to Free 100 was started. The youth started garnering support by telling their friends school clubs, churches, businesses, and local councilmen about different fund raising events. The youth began with bake sales, garage sales, boba tea sales, car washes, basketball tournaments, craft sales, silent auctions and benefit concerts. A verse that motivated them is found in Proverbs 14:31 - "Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God."
